About Me – Rima, Founder of BeginHer Fitness

I'm a Level 3 Personal Trainer, YMCA Group Instructor, and NASM Women’s Fitness Specialist with over 15 years of experience. For the past 10 years, I’ve led chair workouts for seniors face-to-face and for the past 6 years, online — helping women stay strong, mobile, and confident at any age. My sessions are fun, safe, and designed for all abilities.

In 2011, I was honoured with the Active Westminster Award for Changing Lives Through Sport, and in 2025, I received the Active Westminster Mark for delivering safe, inclusive, high-quality fitness.

I’ve worked with organisations like London Sport, Open Age, and Paddington Development Trust, running women-only classes and fun, low-impact chair workouts designed to be safe and surprisingly effective.

What Makes My Workouts Special

One of the best parts of Chair Workout Online is that you can do it anywhere — whether you're at home, on holiday, visiting family, or even in a small flat. There's no need to travel, join a gym, or follow a strict schedule. It's perfect for busy women and seniors who want the flexibility to stay active on their own terms, without the hassle of going out in bad weather or relying on others for transport.

What sets my classes apart is the unique mix of aerobic-style choreography at the start — designed to boost coordination, memory, and mood. It's a fun, energising way to get moving that you won’t find in most chair-based programs

We also focus on fun, effective strength training using:

  • Resistance bands

  • Loop bands

  • Bodyweight exercises

  • Light weights

These exercises help you build muscle, protect your bones, and feel stronger in everyday life.

Why I Do This

This mission is personal to me. I've seen my own mum struggle to get out of bed or walk without support, and it's something I see often among older women. It’s heartbreaking — but I’ve also met incredible women in their 80s who are active, strong, and full of life.

 

Many women feel unsure or overwhelmed when starting exercise. My goal with BeginHer Fitness is to make fitness simple, fun, and realistic, so women can stay active, mobile, and confident — no matter their age
